Information exchanging and consultation are important tools used by the SSP to engage with your community. This is your chance to help us make sure that resources are directed towards the areas that need most attention.
By knowing what is important to you we can put in place the necessary resources to make improvements to your quality of life.
Seeking your views either takes the form of formal consultation, or from individuals contacting us directly to voice their concerns.
THE BIG DRINK DEBATE
The Big Drink debate will be launched on the 12th May and will be the largest regional survey of its kind. It will be the first step on a regional level to find effective ways of promoting safer and more sociable drinking in the North West region, which currently rates as the worst of nine English regions for harmful and hazardous alcohol consumption.
The debate will centre around a questionnaire that aims to discover the drinking habits and attitudes of the population. The information gathered from this questionnaire will inform the next steps that Our Life will take, in partnership with stakeholders. The Big Drink debate will have its own website by 12th May and individuals can fill in the questionnaire online through the website, or via hard copy.
The website can be found at http://www.bigdrinkdebate.com
Launch activities will be held in Manchester, Liverpool, Blackpool and Carlisle, 400,000 hard copies of the questionnaire will be distributed in the MEN (City Centre Edition) on 14th/15th May and there will radio and television publicity as well as ‘bus liners’ after the launch (including buses in the Stockport area).
