The Drugs Reference Group was set up with the overall aim of implementing the district drugs strategy and revising it when appropriate in response to national and local priorities. Sub groups have been set up from the DRG to pursue this aim and DRG meetings are now a means of sharing information from these sub groups and other relevant areas. It gives representatives and those agencies not represented at the sub groups the opportunity to contribute to developing cross agency working and undertake joint initiatives.
